We are (V)owls, an eclectic, swamp folk, blues band born out of the heart of Gainesville. We are a group of artists and musician/songwriters from Florida that have come together to share our individual and collective messages through our musical performance and creating powerful art.
(V)owls started in 2016 at a local coffee shop’s open mic night. Starting as a soulful stringed duo on a small stage, we have now grown to a six piece band including drums, bass, guitar, electric guitar, keyboard, banjo-ukulele, saxophone, and hip hop/freestyle. Our shows are comprised of mostly original music, some covers, and are accompanied by colorful, nature inspired, psychedelic art back drops. Our music fills our listeners a sense of familiarity, community, and Home.
We have played at many different venues from the local farmers markets, dive bars, the fairy tea lounge at the Okeechobee Music Festival, and the The Florida Young Naturists Events. You might see us preforming with pristine sound quality and perfection at Heartwood sound stage, or perhaps you have stumbled across our guerrilla set on the side of the path at the Spirit of the Suwanee Music Park. However, most of the time you’ll probably find us jamming by the fireside during the wee hours of the night.
We love what we do, and we are available to do it.
Our sound can be best described as Heart Music. Pulling on the strings of your myocardium, our music has evolved to plug into your soul and leave you feeling better than before.
We have currently produced three albums and are working on a forth album jammed packed with original music.
